Blockchain Overall
OpenSea's Former Head Arrested For Insider Trading
Nate Chastain, the former head of product at New York-based OpenSea, is accused of purchasing NFTs just before the firm scheduled to showcase them on its homepage. These actions are called 'wash trading', which is a type of market manipulation. According to the charging papers, Chastain washed at least 45 NFTs in 2021, selling them for two to five times what he paid for them each time. Nate was arrested on June 1 and was presented in the US District Court according to the United States Department of Justice website.
BTC Hit A New Point
BTC has risen beyond 32.000 (16:00 UTC - 31th May) in the new week, up from the previous week's low of 28.000. For the first time in history, BTC has been trading in the red for nine weeks in a row.
At the time of writing (8:00 UTC - 5th June), BTC's global exchange price returns to 29.702. Because market sentiment for Bitcoin and other cryptos is still an "extreme fear” zone, a fast price rebound is unlikely. We'll keep you updated on what's going on weekly.
